Using your own OpenAI API Key

In Hearit.AI, you have the option to use your own OpenAI API Key. Using your own API Key offers several benefits:

  • Better cost control
  • Higher usage limits
  • Complete privacy control

How to Get an OpenAI API Key​

  1. Visit the OpenAI API platform
  2. Sign in or create an OpenAI account
  3. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select "View API keys"
  4. Click "Create new secret key" to generate a new API Key
  5. Copy and securely store your API Key (Note: It will only be shown once)

Using Your API Key in Hearit.AI​

  1. Open the Hearit.AI app
  2. Go to Settings by tapping the icon in the top left corner
  3. Find the "Use my own API Key" option

  1. Toggle the switch to enable your own API Key
  2. Subscribe to the plan
  3. Tap the input field and paste your API Key, hit check to verify it
  4. Save your changes

Important Notes​

  • Keep your API Key secure and never share it with others
  • Ensure your OpenAI account has sufficient credit
  • You can always switch back to Hearit.AI provided credit service if needed
  • API usage will be billed directly by OpenAI to your account

OpenAI APIs are billed based on usage. For current pricing, please refer to OpenAI's pricing page. Whisper API transcription typically costs $0.006 per minute.
