Device Overview​

The SPK02 WiFi speaker is a standalone device that connects to the internet via Wi-Fi. After the device is connected to the internet, you can use it to chat with AI models.

Basic Operations​

Device Overview​

Your SPK02 WiFi speaker has two main buttons:

  • Upper button: Marked with a microphone icon
  • Lower button: Marked with a play icon

Powering On/Off​

  • To power on the device: Press and hold the lower button (play icon) until you hear a startup sound.
  • To power off the device: Press the lower button (play icon) for 3 times and you will hear a shutdown sound.
  • The device will automatically enter sleep mode after 3 minutes of inactivity to conserve power.

Volume Control​

  • To adjust the volume, connect the speaker to your phone via Bluetooth and use your phone to change the device volume.

Wi-Fi Configuration​

  • Press and hold the lower button (play icon) to enter the Wi-Fi configuration mode.
  • You can use both PC and mobile phone to configure the Wi-Fi. Windows/MacOS/Android/iOS are supported.
  • Look for the device on the network. The default SSID(name of the Wi-Fi) is HA-SPK02XXXXXX. XXXXXX varies.
  • Connect to the Wi-Fi, and enter 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Or you can also scan this QR code for configuration.

  • Press config button, and you will see the following page

  • Select the Wi-Fi SSID you want the device to connect to, and enter the password.
  • There is a default API-KEY for testing. You can use it to test the device or enter your own API-KEY.
  • GPT_PROMPT is the system prompt for the AI. You can use it to customize the behavior of the AI.
  • GPT_SESSION_COUNT is the number of sessions AI will keep for context purpose.
  • OPENAI_TTS_VOICE is the voice of the AI. You can choose from alloy, echo, fable, nova, onyx, shimmer.
  • Press Save Config button to save the configuration.
  • The device will say 'Connecting' and try to connect to the Wi-Fi you provided.
  • If the connection is not successful, please check the SSID and password, and press and hold the lower button (play icon) to try again.

AI Chat​

  • Press and hold the upper button (microphone icon) to start recording.
  • Release the button to send the message to the AI.
  • The AI model will respond to your message.
  • Press the upper button (microphone icon) once to interrupt the AI model.

Bluetooth Connection​

  • Though the device is an standalone device, it also supports Bluetooth connection.
  • You can connect to the device via Bluetooth and use it as a Bluetooth speaker.

Pairing with a New Device​

  1. Ensure your SPK02 speaker is powered on.
  2. On your smartphone or tablet, go to Bluetooth settings and scan for new devices.
  3. Select a device with the prefix "HA-SPK02".
  4. Once connected, you will hear a confirmation sound.
  5. You can now use the device as a Bluetooth speaker.

Playing Music via Bluetooth​

Once your device is connected via Bluetooth:

  1. Open your preferred music app on your connected device.
  2. Select and play your desired audio.
  3. The audio will now play through your SPK02 speaker.

Controlling Playback​

  • Play/Pause: Short press the lower button (play icon) once.
  • Next track and Previous track are not supported yet on this device.

OTA Update​

Web OTA Update​

  • Web OTA Update supports Windows/MacOS/Android/iOS.
  • Press and hold the lower button (play icon) to enter the Wi-Fi configuration mode, see Wi-Fi Configuration mentioned above for more details.
  • Make sure the device is connected to the a working Wi-Fi.
  • Click OTA button on the web page.
  • Enter or paste the firmware URL we sent over.
  • Wait for the device to upgrade.
